About Us
Through the development of a shared vocabulary and comprehension of hardship over the past two years, Resilient and United Communities of South Georgia has raised the level of awareness of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), trauma, and resiliency in our community. In order to strengthen and broaden these initiatives in years three and four, the coalition wants to increase the breadth and depth of Resilient and United Communities of South Georgia within our Resilient Georgia coalition's eight-county region across the following counties: Atkinson, Berrien, Brooks, Clinch, Cook, Echols,
Lanier, and Lowndes Counties.
Mission
RUCSG's mission is to raise awareness of mental health issues, aid in the prevention of traumatic childhood experiences, and contribute to the development of a trauma-informed community.
Vision
Our vision is to catalyze our rural South Georgia communities to collaborate in the effort to de-stigmatize mental health and provide everyone with access to essential tools and support.
Focus
The focus of RUCSG is to provide trauma-informed care, youth mental health, and suicide prevention trainings to our community partners and youth-serving organizations in our eight-county service area in South Georgia.
